I am a big saree fan and when I say an
ardent saree fan, I really mean it. I love to buy and wear both classic sarees
and latest designer sarees. In fact, every Indian woman should be proud of this
elegant attire and should don it, especially during traditional occasions.
However, latest designer sarees can be
worn in all types of causal events too. There is a recent wave of fusion
fashion and this brings us to a collection of some of the most beautiful sarees
that are a blend of classic and modern sarees. For instance, famous for its
beautiful geometric designs and vibrant colors, Patola sarees are a unique and
traditional product of Gujarat. They come in two types depending upon the
pattern, Rajkot Patola and Patan Patola. The single ikkat weave is called
Rajkot Patola and the double ikkat weave is termed as Patan Patola.

Once
accessible only to royalties and aristocrats, Patola silk sarees are now
available to all. And designers are using this charm of Patola sarees in their
modern day sarees. Then, there are Gadwal silk sarees. Speciality of these kind
of sarees produced in Gadwal, a small town in Andhra Pradesh, is their rich,
contrast borders and pallus and golden or silver zari brocade. Pure silk Gadwal
sarees are woven in Kotha Kota silk. Experts from the fashion field who know
the beauty of these sarees are quick to incorporate special elements of these
sarees in their new rich collections. Next in the line is Chanderi. Hailing
from the historical town of Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh, the Chanderi silk
sarees are highly popular for an extremely fine transparent texture and the
stylistic zari bootis. The beautiful floral shades add to the grandeur of
finery and elegance. And you can see a wide variety of designer sarees in
similar fabric.
